To celebrate Women’s History Month each March, Waave proudly announces our annual program, New York Women‘s Art Month (NYWAM). This year, as part of our milestone anniversary and in honor of the 100th anniversary of Surrealism, Waave Foundation—a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization devoted to empowering and promoting women artists—presents a dynamic program featuring a curated exhibition at the United Nations Headquarters and a parallel juried exhibition.

Our 2025 juried exhibition, Surreal 101, explores the theme of Surrealism through the lens of women's consciousness: is it dreamlike or real? A century ago, women fought to have their voices heard, and today, the fight for equality and empowerment continues.
​
Taking place during March—International Women’s Month—this group exhibition will spotlight selected artists at Blanc Space in New York City. Participating artists may also qualify for the NYWAM Awards, recognizing outstanding artistic excellence and meaningful contributions to the cultural landscape.​

Eligibility Criteria

Open to women and non-binary artists of any nationality, citizenship, or residency.

Artworks must be physically present in New York City during the exhibition period.

Works in visual arts, including painting, sculpture, installation, photography, and moving images, are welcome, provided they align with the theme Surreal 101 and the mission of the Waave Foundation.
